Group BTS placed first for 2017 March boy group reputation as a result of big data analysis.
The Korean Corporate Reputation Research Institute calculated the participation index, communication index, and community participation index for each group by performing a behavioral analysis of 41,393,643 pieces of boy group brand reputation big data collected from February 10th to March 11th, 2017. The brand index is created by analyzing big data which looks at the influence in brand consumption based on consumers’ online habits.
The March boy group brand reputation ranking includes BTS, EXO, Seventeen, BTOB, Block, and Big Bang.
BTS recorded 4,426,928 in brand participation index, 6,309,284 in communication participation index, 1,311,691 in community participation index, and placed first with 12,047,903 brand reputation participation index. This is a 28.73% increase from their February Brand Reputation Index of 9,358,855.
Goo Changhwan, the head of Korea’s Research Institute, stated, “According to the singer brand reputation analysis for March 2016, BTS placed first. Although EXO and Seventeen’s brand reputation indexes are declining, BTS are continuing to set new, personal best brand reputation index records for themselves.”
He continued, saying, “Reactions such as ‘(they are) forever’, ‘perfect’, and ‘cute’ were high to the link analysis of BTS’ overwhelming first place score, while keyword analysis showed ‘Youtube’, ‘(work) departure’, and ‘music video’ as frequent searches. The positive-negative brand ratio analysis showed that BTS recorded a positive ratio of 83.98%.”
